Cleaning up? Rent a Container from DEH

Are you faced with a big clean-up job but not sure how you're going to get the debris to the landfill? Your answer may be to rent a container from the Department of Environmental Health's new temporary Solid Waste Management Office.

Customers interested in renting a container should come into the office, located at the end of Sparky Drive and opposite the Water Authority's new sewage treatment plant on Lincoln Drive.

There, a number of new containers, ideal for large commercial or construction clean-up jobs, are available for rent. Daily rentals range from CI$75 to $150, depending on the size as well as timing of rental, e.g., weekday vs. weekend. Customers are asked to prepay when they arranged rental. This service is in high demand and is offered at a first-come, first-served basis.

DEH advises that it is best to separate waste, especially when more than one load will be removed.

Commercial waste collection is also accomplished through container rental and servicing and several sizes and types of containers are available for rental on a daily, monthly or annual basis. The servicing frequency can be arranged from once monthly to six days weekly.

Office hours are normally from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Out-of-hours calls will be monitored.

For more information call the Solid Waste Management Office, on 949-8793 or fax 949-0754.
