CIRO Focuses on Small Business

On Monday, 25 October the Cayman Islands Development Bank (CIDB) will begin training workshops as part of the move to assist the recovery of small businesses following Hurricane Ivan.

Offered in conjunction with the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau (CIIB) and the Employment Services Centre (ESC), the initial programme will concentrate on short-term goals.

Coordinator Hecton Hemans, head of the Credit and Marketing Division at CIDB, said; “We are aware that these workshops have wider applicability and we are therefore open to broadening this programme and also making this a long term commitment.”

The training sessions will provide guidance for small business owners on topics that will help guide them through this period of recovery and enable them to work towards long-term success. Some of the topics that will be covered are: business recovery planning, developing a marketing plan, and introduction to bookkeeping/accounting.

Workshops are free of cost and all small business owners are encouraged to attend. For more information or to register for the course, contact Dax Basdeo at 525-1345.
