The CUC Current

Caribbean Utilities Companies (CUC) is still on the move, restoring power throughout Grand Cayman. As of 3 November, approximately 14,300 customers have been restored. This represents about 66% of CUC’s total customer base.

With a large shipment of supplies en route, Vice President of Transmission and Distribution Lee Tinney says, “Over the next few weeks and pending no more unexpected delays, all wire repairs will be completed and we will be concentrating 100 percent on customer connections island-wide.”

“One thing people should understand is that we are working in zones,” continues Mr. Tinney. “If you are in an area with power but you do not have it, just contact the office and we will be able to tell you if your ‘zone’ has been energized yet.” CUC will also provide a restoration zone map of Grand Cayman in the media to help people determine approximate restoration dates.
