Debris Removal Contract Awarded

On Monday, 1 November 2004, the Central Tenders Committee (CTC) approved the awarding of the contract for debris removal on Grand Cayman to MC Restoration.

In setting its priorities following the devastation of Hurricane Ivan, the Cabinet gave top priority to debris removal and management. Expressions of interest in undertaking the project were received from several companies and after reviewing these, the CTC selected MC Restoration of Tampa, Florida.

The contract is based on a unit price (per cubic yard).

A major facet of the agreement with MC Restoration is the use of available local equipment and labour.
