Shelter Update

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is continuing efforts to relocate the 29 residents still accommodated at the East End Civic Centre.

The department hopes that the shelter will be closed before Christmas. DCFS has managed to acquire a two-bedroom affordable housing property in West Bay, which will be rented out to those in need.

Repairs continued this week on the Lyndhurst Apartments and interior doors were installed. Furniture is still required for the apartments before residents housed there prior to the storm can return.
