Cayman To Seek Closer Ties with ECLAC

Government wants to strengthen its relationship with the UN’s Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and to call on its offer for assistance in moving forward, said Leadership of Govenrment, the Hon. McKeeva Bush, this week following the presentation of the ECLAC report (see separate story) to Cabinet this week Tuesday (7 December). Consideration is being given for the Cayman Islands to pursue associate membership with ECLAC, which would require the United Kingdom Government’s approval.

A summary of the findings of the ECLAC report was released this week, pending finalisation of the report.
